Welcome to Royal Registan

Jodhpur-a gateway to the Desert. Perched at the edge of the Thar Desert, the imperial city of Jodhpur echoes with stories antiquity in the emptiness of the desert.

Once the caplita of Marwar state, it was founded in 1499 AD by Rao Jodha.  Jodhpur was the largest kingdom in Rajputana before the advent of the Mughal. At the time of Rao Maldeo, the boundaries of Marwar extended to within a few miles of Delhi. Jodhpur the strong hold of the Rajput Rathore is an island of marble palaces in a sea of surrounding desert . The colour and vibrancy of Rajasthan is seen here on amore princely scale.

Jodhpur is the largest city of Rajasthan after Jaipur. It is famous for its breaches and polo. Many polo players from Jodhpur are legends in national and international circuit. Jodhpur is also famous and one of the largest exporters of Handicrafts and antiques from India. Its decorative leather craft, tie and dye textile and the traditional life style is enough to entice.

The massive 15th AD century Meharangarh Fort looms on the top of a rock hill soaring 125 meters above the plains. Inside the fort are a number of palaces added by successive rulers amongst which Jaswant Thada memorial is most prominent.
